In Lunar is the title of an interactive sound installation project to be displayed on a beach on the island of Lamma, Hong Kong, during the upcoming “Around” sound art festival in May 2009. Here is an extract of the sound produced by the installation: a blend of processed field recordings taken from woods in north Italy, and a combination of glitches and tones that are triggered via numbers captured by light sensors, according to the path and to the behavioral patterns of the Moon over the period of a month. The suggested playback time is during the night, and through headphones.
Recordings and sound programming by Simone Merli.
