Paul Auster spoke in conversation with Enrique Vila-Matas last week at the PEN World Voices Festival of International Literature, which convened this year on the theme of Evolution/Revolution in celebration of the anniversaries of the publication of Darwin’s The Origin of Species and the fall of the Berlin Wall.  PEN is an annual, multicultural event, engaging established and emerging writers like Auster to dialogue with their contemporaries on issues of media, literature and economics.

Auster is the author of many acclaimed novels, short stories, screenplays and essays. His collaboration with Soundwalk on the Ground Zero soundwalk was nominated for the 2005 Audie Award’s Best Original Work.
