A WALK THROUGH OF A NEW WORK AT CENTRE POMPIDOU

Stephan Crasneanscki of Soundwalk Collective walking through the new work for Centre Pompidou’s Paris-Delhi-Bombay exhibition. Soundwalk in collaboration with Mickey Hart present a new installation piece: Sacred Chants of the Gyuto Monks Tantric Choir, which is open from May 25th to September 19th. MONDAY NIGHT AT FIAF

Audio extract from Monday’s debut performance of The Passenger at FIAF, Florence Gould Hall, with clips from the video projection by Jim Helton. The Passenger is a piece presenting sounds collected in Fes, Marrakech, and Tangier, the next performance will take place at the Cinematheque de Tanger on June 8th.

Swing by today at Prince and Bowery, where Soundwalk Collective will present The Passenger installation for New Museum’s Festival of Ideas for the New City. From 11am to 7pm,  a series of hand-cut vinyl records of sounds collected in Fes, Marrakech, and Tangier will be on display and available for attendees to spin and peruse as they please.  Map shows Soundwalk’s location at today’s event, marked by a red spot.  Blue spots are locations for some of the other festival events happening throughout the weekend. An installation for the Centre Pompidou’s Paris-Delhi-Bombay exhibit, the piece will occupy the escalator space of the museum from May 25th to September 19th.  Audio extract is a sneak preview from the installation.
