Friday August 26th and Saturday August 27th, Soundwalk Collective will present performances of Ulysses Syndrome, Rub’ al Khali – The Empty Quarter, and The Passenger at the National Museum of Singapore’s Voyage Night Festival 2011. Here’s a sneak peek of the preparations of the upcoming “Art, Talks & Sensations” experimental and artistic promenade, part of the Abu Dhabi Art fair (ADA). The Art Fair opens this thursday November 4th, on the beach of the Emirates Palace. A special guest of “Art, Talks & Sensations 2010″, Soundwalk will present its new sound piece entitled “Eternal Hell” on the evening of the 4th, 5th and 6th of November.

Here is a snapshot and an audio sample from our performance in Beirut last night: great traditional arabic singer Daline Jabbour and Soundwalk‘s Stephan Crasneanscki and Simone Merli did a live jam session at the Zico House (more here).
The Rub Al Khali desert, or ‘Empty quarter’, is one of the largest sand deserts in the world, encompassing most of the southern part of the Arabian peninsula, including parts of the UAE, Oman, Yemen and Saudi Arabia.
In October, the Soundwalk collective made a one-month travel across this desert of silence, recording hours of hertzian frequencies as well as songs, prayers and sounds of the sand and wind.
Before presenting “Eternal Hell” at the opening of Abu Dhabi’s Art, Talks & Sensations Art Fair, Soundwalk will be playing live this thursday in Beirut, Lebanon, at Zico House, for an exclusive performance, with great traditional arabic singer and improviser Daline Jabbour as a special guest !

Soundwalk, in company of Myke Dodge Weiskopf, the master of shortwave (see www.myke.me), in the Rub-Al-Khali, known as ‘the Desert of the Deserts’ located in the Arabic Peninsula and shared by UAE, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Oman.
The sound piece will be premiered as a performance at the Abu Dhabi Art, Talks and Sensations on the 4th, 5th and 6th of November, as part of Abu Dhabi’s Art Fair.
