SOUNDWALK GOES TO DC-10 IBIZA

Ricardo Villalobos & ARPIAR at Circoloco DC-10 Ibiza

Soundwalk will collaborate with Circoloco New Era @ DC-10 on October 4th, during the last 18 hours of the 2010 season. By placing nano-microphones on the surface of the walls, the windows and the roof of the terrace room at DC-10, Soundwalk will re-draw the pulse of the club as in a seismograph, recording the infra-bass frequencies, and the vibrations of the structure shaking to the breath of low frequencies.

The 18-hour sound piece, interlaced by the sound of planes taking-off and landing just next to the club, will be shown as a sound installation in major contemporary art museums throughout 2011.The exhibition will be setup in a dedicated room, where visitors will be immersed by a sound wall of infra-bass frequencies.

DC-10 has been one of the most influential actors in contemporary electronic music culture. Circoloco has been the principal driving force behind it and still represents one of the most exciting musical event gathering the best artists every year.

Soundwalk is pleased to announce Room n°8 at the Hotel Europa (Lille), from April 1 – June 12, 2010.

At the Gare Saint Sauveur in Lille, Soundwalk presents Room n°8, a sonic voyage into the Shanghai of the 1960s. The installation is inspired by the Shanghai Soundwalk, a stroll through the gardens and passageways of the old Shanghai French Concession where the Chinese actress Joan Chen invites us to follow her in retracing the love of her youth.

Visiting hours: from Wednesday to Friday, 12:00-7:00 p.m.

Reserve Room n°8 for free, for fifteen minutes or an hour, from Thursday to Saturday, 5:00-7:00 p.m. (from April 1-June 12, 2010). Reserve by telephone at +33 3 28 52 30 00, by email at saintsauveur@lille3000.com, or online at www.lille3000.com

Soundwalk’s original soundscape guides visitors through the Chanel Contemporary Mobile Art futuristic pavilion created by architect Zaha Hadid.
